My secret hero piece✨ I wear my front and neck w My secret hero piece✨
I wear my front and neck warmer every single day, here’s why!

•It’s the perfect throw on piece, keeps me cosy around my neck, face & down my front.

•It’s easier than a big bulky jumper as you don’t have to contest with the sleeves in your coat & it’s so quick to throw on, without having to faff around like you would with a scarf.

•And you can wear it rolled over or unrolled and high around the face to keep out the wind on those cold cold days!

•I’ve been wearing mine for over three years and it still looks perfect

•it’s made with 100% lambswool which is super soft, warm & bio degradable.

•This grey and the other muted colours go with every single one of my coats + I can do these in custom colours- pink anyone?!

•Cost per wear for me is about 25p now!

Big yes for every day luxuries!!

Piecing together colour samples for a special Joan Piecing together colour samples for a special Joan commission. I absolutely love mixing colours to create unique tones. This lambswool blends so beautifully, I knit & then wash it which makes the fibre bloom & melds together the colours. So soft.

I haven’t got my samples back up in the new spac I haven’t got my samples back up in the new space yet....they’re still vac packed under the bed 🙈but next week I’m getting on it!
A. Because I need to get this new collection finished & feel inspired. Sometimes a break is the best thing and I’m hoping coming back to these with fresh eyes might yield some good results! You get an idea where it’s going here....pink!

And
B. There’s some good samples in there to get into my new workshops which I’ll be starting to film next week.

Think partial knitting, cabling, beading, intarsia and some fun new rib techniques. Plus I think there’ll be a jumper workshop & maybe socks! There’s a lot to dig into so it’s going to be fun!

If you want to be the first to hear about new workshops then sign up to my newsletter via my website. I don’t send many so you won’t be spammed!

✨✨✨Hallo! I’ve had a few new followers rec ✨✨✨Hallo! I’ve had a few new followers recently & haven’t been about much on here lately as we’ve just moved house & studio!

So here’s me in my old studio space last year on my branding shoot with @megangisbornephotography & had my make up done by @byannabellamakeupartist which was so much fun! (Despite normally hating having my photo taken!)

I’m a knitwear designer based in Bristol & focus on three elements :
1. Creating minimal luxury knitwear in classic shapes & calming colours using 100 % natural fibres. (I’m wearing the Joan jumper in Blossom, named after my Nana)
2. I create high end fashion knitwear collections (not as regularly as I like as it fits in around making the money!) I like to push knit forward often creating fabrics that don’t look like they’re knit or using them in a less traditional way.
3. I’ve been machine knitting for over 13 years & I teach machine knitting workshops- this year moving them online which have been a great success. I love teaching people how many amazing fabrics you can make from vintage domestic machines!

So that’s me here: is there anything else you’d like to know? Let me know in the comments!

Piles of knits are so comforting don’t you think Piles of knits are so comforting don’t you think? I love seeing the different textures all together.

This year I want to focus on some new products, new textures and new yarns. Think cashmeres, English wools, mohairs and cottons.

I’ve got a couple of new shapes & products on the cards, I’m just refining them at the moment and hope to have them ready soon!

Anyone who needs something cosy now, I have a few pieces already made and ready to ship on the website. Still can’t believe no one has snapped up that lambswool, cashmere & vintage wool blanket scarf! Maybe I’ll keep it for myself!

❄️🌨Sunday’s in winter are for cosying up ❄️🌨Sunday’s in winter are for cosying up in your favourite jumper.

This was the first Joan jumper I ever made & am so thrilled that @thesilenceco are now stocking them in several colours, with some other products. (Love this shot on their website)

The perfect winter staple, made by me in my home studio on vintage domestic knitting machines, hand stitched & washed to bring out the full softness of the fibre. These jumpers are labour intensive but so worth it, an investment piece to see you through many many winters, I often say it’s like wearing a hug which feels more important now.

I design these pieces to last, in the softest lambswool & in colours that never go out of style & that pair well with lots of others. Minimal clean shapes in luxury fibres are just so comforting. I’ve been wearing mine for three years now, & love it as much now as I did then.

I absolutely love getting feedback about these, every time I do brings such a smile to my face. I would love to know how you like to style yours? Or how would you style one if you bought one?
