Knitted English rib collar/snood made on a vintage knitting machine by hand in dark & light camel. (This colour combo makes me think of biscuits!)
Made with lambswool & camel hair, this snood is luxurious & soft to touch, breathable & warm. Knit in an English rib, the fabric has a slightly different texture on each side & is finished by hand for a seamless appearance. Due to the ribbed fabric it can be worn up around the face, or folded more softly. The slightly wider shape at the bottom allows the fabric to drape more. The clean lines allow this piece to work well with any minimal wardrobe, and is designed to work with any colour.
Stitched & finished by hand this collar is made beautifully.
100% Geelong lambswool & 100% camel hair.
Measures approx. : 75cm circum. x 31cm long
Geelong Lambswool is a fibre taken from the first shearing of a meticulously bred Merino lamb & is the highest quality of sheep’s wool to be found. Soft & lightweight with excellent insulating properties this wool works perfectly for accessories. Only a tiny percentage of all Merino lambswool can be classified as Geelong, making it one of the most exclusive luxury products available.
The camel’s pure undercoat is very soft and gathered when camels moult. Camel hair is harvested in the spring of each year by shearing or by collecting the hair as it sheds naturally from the animals during their six-to eight-week moulting season in the spring. Due to its quality and scarcity, camel hair is used in luxury textiles.
It is recommended that you hand wash your woollen scarves, hats or jumpers; do not machine wash.
One of the many benefits of wool is that unless it’s actually dirty, you can just air it for a day or two and any smell will disappear. If you look after your wool well, it will keep you warm and cosy for years to come!
