Combining botanical forms with handmade knitted fabrics, this cyanotype print explores the relationship between textiles and nature. Rich indigo tones, delicate lace structures and fluid cyanotype textures create an artwork that invites you to look a little closer each time you see it.
Botanicals are perhaps the most familiar subject of cyanotype, but I was curious to see what would happen when they met my knitted textiles. Layering spring flowers from the garden over delicate knitted structures allowed me to continue exploring the relationship between textiles, nature and light, while gradually finding my own way within the cyanotype process. The play and experimentation brought me so much joy!

Each print is available as a 5 × 7 inch fine art print. I’ve chosen this smaller size because I love the way the collection works together as a series. Hung individually they’re little moments of spring, but displayed together they tell a richer story of knitted textures, flowers and sunlight. If you’re looking for a larger statement piece, larger sizes and framing are available on request.
