Inspired by the first bright days of spring, I wanted to experiment with a traditional subject used in cyanotype printing and combine it with my machine knitted lace fabrics. The cyanotype process captures every detail while allowing unexpected textures and tonal shifts to emerge naturally in the sunlight- in fact I was delighted with the watery and shadowy effects I managed to achieve whilst playing.
I’ve chosen to release this collection as 5 × 7 inch prints because I love the intimacy of their scale. They invite you to look a little closer, discovering new textures and details each time, while working beautifully together as a collection. Larger sizes and framing are available on request.
