This original cyanotype print brings together knitted lace and spring daffodils gathered from my garden. Using only sunlight, water and hand-cut botanical arrangements, the delicate petals and intricate knitted structures become layered indigo impressions.
Created as the garden came back to life after winter, the image has a soft, dreamlike quality, with beautiful unexpected textures. Watermarks, shifting blues and subtle textures created during the cyanotype process give the print a painterly quality.
Each original cyanotype was created by hand before being carefully prepared as a fine art print.
Each print is available as a 5 × 7 inch fine art print. I’ve chosen this smaller size because I love the way the collection works together as a series. Their intimate scale encourages you to pause and look a little closer, noticing all the patterns and details. Hung together, they create a beautiful collection inspired by spring, light and slow making.
