Created during the first warm days of spring, this cyanotype print combines delicate knitted lace in mohair with bluebells gathered from my garden. Layers of knitted texture and botanical forms are transformed by sunlight into rich indigo tones, creating an image that feels both familiar and dreamlike.
Made while the children played outside after a long winter indoors, this piece captures the quiet optimism of spring returning. The delicate bluebell silhouettes drift through the knitted structures, while the cyanotype process combined with the soft spring sunlight produced water like textures in organic patterns.
Each original cyanotype was created by hand before being carefully prepared as a fine art print, preserving the intricate details of the knitted stitches and botanical forms without fading.
Each print is available as a 5 × 7 inch fine art print. I’ve chosen to release this collection as 5 × 7 inch prints because I love the intimacy of their scale. They invite you to look a little closer, discovering new textures and details each time, while working beautifully together as a collection.
