Knitting with light #3- Cyanotype knit lace print on archival paper

This cyanotype print was created using delicate machine knitted lace swatches in yarns such as mohair, nylon monofilament and cotton, placed on light-sensitive paper and exposed under sunlight. The process captures the fine details of stitches and fibres, transforming familiar textile textures into bold indigo patterns. The original cyanotype print was then scanned and is available as a print on Master’s edition archival paper.

Part of my Knitting with Light series, these fine art prints reproduce original cyanotypes of knitted lace. The process captures the fine lines of stitches and the textures of different yarns, revealing every loop and space in vivid indigo detail.
